Teatro Colón
After being closed for over four years, for a much-delayed renovation that cost over 100 million dollars, the Colón re-opened in May, 2010. But works continued behind the scenes, and it wasn’t possible to take guided visits until February 8th, just days after we touched down. We took the tour right away, and were floored. This is one of the most gorgeous buildings I’ve ever been in. Suddenly, and for the first time in my life, I’m dying to see an opera. The season begins in March.
